About Me

This blog is a user friendly interface designed for A-level students studying Politics. Through it I hope to expand on the topics in the syllabus and enable students to think beyond prescriptive and limiting texts. I want to demonstrate to students the broad range of academics that is involved in the study and also the daily contemporary examples around the world of the political ideologies as they are lived and sometimes died for.

Feminist resources

Here are some useful internet resources that you can always refer back to throughout the module.

Finally, a Feminism 101 Blog - look at the FAQ section, where a lot of key feminist concepts are clarified.

Feministing - the most important feminist issues of the day, from people who really know what they're talking about.

The Fawcett Society - the gender pay gap, and women and power.

Centre for Women and Democracy - does what it says on the tin.

Women's Environmental Network - an example of an eco-feminist group.

Platform 51 - what are our society's attitudes to maternity, and young motherhood? Find out here!

Manboobz - the tagline: 'Misogyny. I mock it.' This is a fun blog which takes a look at some of the more extreme anti-feminist attitudes on the internet, and breaks them down. Some of the opinions the blog deals with may be very offensive, so be warned!
